FLIGHT
INSTRUCTORS SELECTED FOR K-STATE AT SALINA
SALINA
-- Kansas State University at Salina has 12 new flight instructors
for the 2005-06 school year. The new instructors, along with current
staff and faculty, are responsible for the training of incoming
flight students in both ground and flight instruction.
The
new flight instructors were selected from a pool of applicants.
To be considered for the job, applicants had to be Federal Aviation
Administration-certified flight instructors and had to have previously
earned their certified flight instructor certificate. Applicants
also were required to attend standardization training for two days,
during which personal interviews were conducted.
New
K-State at Salina flight instructors are:
Nick
Perkins, senior in professional pilot, Andover; Eric Runner,
senior in professional pilot, Colwich; Thomas Kemp, junior
in professional pilot, Emporia; Scott Titus, senior in professional
pilot, Lenexa; Jered Hamel, senior in professional pilot,
McPherson; and Chris Hannon, senior in mechanical engineering
technology and May 2005 graduate in professional pilot, Meriden;
and Omar Aquino and John Evans, both seniors in professional pilot
and both of Salina.
From
Colorado -- Ryan Courtney, junior in professional pilot,
Centennial; and Micah Westblade, junior in professional pilot,
Evergreen.
From
Texas -- Brendan Haiduk, senior in professional pilot, White
Deer.
